I was sorry to leave the hotel but we were booked in to a B & B in Oxford.
We arrived at midday, a couple of hours before check in but the host very kindly let us in to our room.
While Linda was resting I walked about halfway in to town along the canals and river before turning back to our lodging.
Then a bus down to the centre of town.
We were very early for dinner, it was only 4.00 pm but we found the Folly Inn that sits on a small island in the middle of the Thames, sat at a table, looking out on the river, drinking coffee and beer until we could have a meal at 6.00 pm.
It was very cold next to the river but the people at the pub very kindly provided us with blankets to keep us warm.
We eventually managed to catch a bus back to our lodgings.
