2015-Dec-19 - Wooroloo - Loft Floor Joists #19
I wanted to give the top coat enamel as much time as possible before handling so I left loading the steel beams until 7.00 on Saturday morning.

This turned out to be a very tiring and slightly dangerous job - it took a an hour to complete the loading.

I was out on site at 10.00 am and took two hours to unload the steel and place it on gluts ready for lifting on Sunday.

I also drilled out the paint filled bolting holes and sprayed them with Galmet.

Finally I checked the alignment of the tops of all the stud frames and then headed home.

Sunday

I picked up a hoist at Kennards, Midland at 7.00 am.

For the hoist hire they were a bit more expensive than Coates but in contrast they are are open every day from 7.00 am to 5.00 pm.

I was out on site at 8.00 am and took most of the day to lift and bolt all the beams.

Around 2.00 pm it became too hot to work on the reflective temporary roof and I retreated inside for an hour.

I still need to bolt the beams on to the top plates of the stud frame.

There is also a bow in the middle beam which I can eliminate when I finalise the bolting.

Monday

There was talk of a thunderstorm on Wednesday so I was up at 5.00 am and out on site at 6.30 am in order to touch up all the scraped parts of the enamel.

I was back in my office by 9.00 am
