I was up at 5.00 am and out on site at 6.30 am.
First I did a bit of work rubbing back some painting that had significant drips and brush marks - came up looking pretty good after a bit of effort and a coat of paint with a bit of thinning using turpentine.
Next I trimmed back some shoots from the old tree stump that were encroaching on the area where I need to install the last of the purlins on the garage side.
I also tidied away a number of clamps, string lines, sheet metal and planks.
The next job was to drill 8 x 12 mm holes in the PFC along the garage side.
I wanted to install the last 8 purlins expecting this to take all day.
I finished this around 4.30 pm (by the time I did the last one I was installing a purlin in 15 minutes).
I then went on to drill the last 3 x 12 mm holes needed on the front veranda and installed one purlin there.
By now it was 6.30 so I put away all my tools, watched a little TV and headed home.
Next week I need to install the last two purlins across the front and then paint a few slightly oxidised purlins.
